We're ringing in the new year with many new and exciting learning experiences! The new year promises to be filled with challenging and interesting concepts and skills. Our reading unit is called "Look Again." We're learning about animals that camouflage themselves. Each of the stories has great photographs and illustrations. Our class is better understanding the relationship between an animal and the ecosystem of which it is a part. We are regrouping in addition and subtraction. The class is becoming more confident in handling every kind of number when we add and subtract. This is enabling us to solve math problems with increased skill. Estimation and rounding techniques have also been explored. We've learned that "reasoning" is a very important skill that needs to be applied when completing math problems. The class is preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In this sacrament we will receive Jesus' divine forgiveness through the words of absolution. Excitement fills the air as we are learning how to write cursive. First, we are learning how to write the lower case letters. Neatness is a must! We've been waiting for this experience for a long time. Art is a favorite activity for all of us. Our winter projects include snowmen made from make-up pads and toddler socks, as well as snowflakes made out of cotton swabs. These creative projects are a blast to make!
It's wonderful to be involved in so many activities, projects,
and challenges. We're learning to help and cooperate with one
another. It makes our learning atmosphere enjoyable and
productive! |
