MIDDLE STATES VISIT
The Middle States
team was very impressed with the faculty, students,
parents and volunteers and all with whom they met.
They have reported Saint Jerome School for
re-accreditation but said the official announcement
will come in October from
Middle States.

On Thursday, May 24th at
7:00pm the Bell Choir will present some selections.
Ms. Park will also perform playing close to 60 bells.
If you were present at least year's Bell Concert and
witnessed Ms. Park playing the bells solo, you know how
amazing this presentation is. All are welcome to
attend.
spring concert / talent
show
The students voted to
have a Talent Show instead of a Spring Concert.
The Talent Show, under the direction of Christina
Balkovic, will be held in the school lunch room on
Friday, June 8th at 9:30am. All are welcome to
attend.
Fashion Show and raffle
to store of choice
A very sincere thank you
to everyone responsible for the success of
this year’s Fashion Show. On Friday, May 4th
after the 8:30 Mass, a check was presented to Father
Cullen in the amount of $75,000.00 from the Fashion Show
profits and a check in the amount of $5,000.00 from PTA
fund raising. These checks go into the School Operating
Account. Your fund raising efforts help keep tuition
rates to a minimum. Thank you and God bless you!
May Crowning
A special thank you is
extended to the students who volunteered to participate
in the Rosary and May Crowning/Benediction Service and
to the parents who attended. The Middle States Team
could not believe all the students who volunteered to
participate and how reverently they honored Mary, the
Mother of God and her Son in the Blessed Sacrament.
Thank you, Parents, for
leading, guiding and making it possible for your
children to participate. God is not outdone in
generosity. He blesses you and your family for your
generosity of time to honor Him and His Mother.
Flynn O’Hara Uniform
measurement
On Wednesday, May 30th
a representative from the Flynn O’Hara Uniform Company
will be at Saint Jerome School from 9:30 am to 10:30 am
to measure the students for uniforms. When checking
uniforms needed for next year, please check the handbook
for the official uniform which is needed for certain
days of the year and school pictures. Every student
should have at least one long white sleeve shirt or
blouse, and specified cardigan or sweater vest.
Check the rack of used
uniforms and take as many as are needed.

Shoes should be
comfortable and safe. Unacceptable are: backless
shoes, clogs, flip flops, Uggs, work boots, GBX, Vans,
iPath, sneakers, clogs, sandals, or any shoe which can
be dangerous going up and down stairs.

pta awards luncheon for
8th grade students and parents
On June 1st,
the PTA will treat the parents and 8th grade
graduates to a luncheon at 12:00 noon followed by the
distribution of any awards earned by the graduates.
Friday, June 8th - eighth grade
graduation
We congratulate the
eighth graders as they graduate from Saint Jerome School
on Friday, June 8th at 3:00 pm. We ask God’s
blessings on them as they commence a new phase of their
education in high school. All altar servers and youth
choir who volunteer to participate in the graduation
ceremony are asked to be here by 2:45.
Monday, June11th
On Monday, June 11th,
the students will participate in Field Day. Through the
generosity of you, the PTA Members, a DJ and inflatable
obstacle course will be part of the day. The students
will also receive a treat. All are invited to the field
day activities from 8:30 am until 11:30 am. Dismissal
will be at 12:00 Noon.

Because we did not have
any snow days, the last day of school for the 2011-2012
school year will be
on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Our
deepest gratitude is extended to all
pta members
who served as
Executive Board, chair people, to all the
faithful workers seen and unseen, and to all who
supported the fund raisers by either selling or
purchasing items.
A special thank you to
the volunteer coaches for not only teaching athletic
skills but giving the students
life lessons of
sportsmanship.
In
appreciation,
the students, faculty, and administration will gather
together
on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10:00 am to
thank God. We pray that God will continue to bless
all
Saint Jerome School families.
All
are invited to attend.
Students may leave with their parents after Mass.

School begins for grades
Kindergarten through 8th grade on Tuesday,
September 4, 2012. Dismissal on Tuesday, September 4th
and Wednesday, September 5th will
be at 12:00 Noon.

with another third grade class at Saint Jerome

the Student Spotlight every two weeks
- the third grade is working on computer skills,
math skills, and Microsoft Word

fourth graders finished their study of New
Jersey Lenape Indians by making beaded necklaces and
writing Indian
myths

fourth graders wrote and typed apple Haiku and
Christmas Cinquains
- Andrea Jomartin was the first to break one minute
in the Multiplication Mad Minute
- the fourth grade has learned many features about a
word document and has applied it to several
projects.
- the fifth graders earned feathers for the turkey by doing
acts of service for others
- the fifth graders had a wonderful learning
experience doing their Canada projects and enjoying
“Canada Day”
- the fifth graders are benefitting from the DARE
program with Detective Paolantonio
- the fifth graders are enjoying Mr. Hernandez ,an
observer who is a prospective teacher

- the seventh graders are “buddying” up with
kindergarten for various projects
- they created Public Service Announcements about
Earthquake Safety
- the seventh graders created tri-board displays
showing their knowledge of the Revolutionary War

to enhance their Revolutionary War Unit
- the seventh and eighth grade is working on

and O’Henry for their short story unit
- the pre-algebra students are drawing symmetrical

YMCA’s Model UN
program affords students in Grades 7 & 8 the
opportunity to research and debate issues of
