Once
again, we are back at school looking forward to an exciting and
challenging new year. We hope your holidays were enjoyable and
restful as we will be undertaking many exciting projects.
The 5th grade has
been reading a variety of selections from the Family Heritage
unit in their ILA studies. As an extended project, each child is
creating a “family tree”. It should be an informative research
project that gives each child a deeper appreciation of his/her
roots.
Catholic
Schools Week starts on January 31 this year. Many fun-filled and
mission-minded projects are planned for the week, representing
this year’s theme “Celebrate Service”. Our classroom is
decorated with many colorful and creative projects and the
hallways have the students’ newspapers giving a little insight
into the life of a 5th grader.
As
we head toward the spring months, we anxiously await our class
trip to Liberty Science Center, PowerPoint projects on the
cultures of Latin America, fraction bingo boards in math and so
much more….!
