WELCOME BACK GRADE 5

Once again we are back at school looking forward to an exciting and challenging new year. We hope your summer was enjoyable and restful and that you are now eager to meet the many new adventures in learning.

Now that each of you has made the long trip from the first floor to the “upstairs” floor, you will find that we will be preparing you for the middle school demands. Our curriculum, along with the many exciting projects that are planned for this year should make the transition an easy one.

I look forward to meeting each of you on Back to School Night on September 20th. You will be able to view an array of summer book reports in the hallways and classrooms as well as short personal narratives which have been arranged in the form of a quilt on the 5^th grade blackboard.

The class has been collecting pictures from magazines to create a collage that tells us all about each person. These too can be found in the hallway upstairs and in the classroom as well.

Our next project will be in Religion. Every child needs heroes/heroines to look up to. Soon each child will be researching the lives of four very important people to each of them in order to create My Mount Rushmore.

We look forward to many great things in 5^th grade!
